what is reiki?
“The beauty of Reiki is that it does not need to be understood to work. It simply does.”- unknown.

a. Reiki is an energy healing practice that promotes physical, emotional, and spiritual well-being by channeling life force energy through the hands of a practitioner into the client’s body. It works by identifying and clearing blockages rooted in the energetic body. These blockages may present themselves in the form of tension, pain, or negativity, often located in areas where trauma was initially held or within the corresponding chakra region. Recognizing, tending to, and purifying your energy field of ‘pollution’ (stagnant energy, beliefs instilled by others, lack mindset, & more) is essential to living a well rounded, healthy, & holistic life. By targeting these areas, Reiki helps release stuck energy & restores balance to the body’s energetic system, enabling deep healing, a change in perspective, and a sense of being freed. Reiki can be an answer to persistent inner struggles, emotional & physical pain, or thought patterns that don’t seem to go away, no matter how much shadow work, therapy or effort has been tirelessly put in.

c. During a Reiki session, you will remain fully clothed while lying comfortably: on a massage table, chair, yoga mat or even your own bed. After easing you into a meditative state, I will gently place my hands on or just above your body (entirely up to you whether you’d like touch or not) in various positions, focusing primarily on energy points known as chakras. You might feel warmth, pressure or a tingling sensation, but most people simply experience a deep sense of calm and relaxation. Intense emotions & thoughts may arise during a Reiki session, but rest assured that this is completely normal and actually a sign that healing is happening! Allow these pent-up, repressed emotions to finally come up: meeting them with compassion, feeling them entirely, and then allowing them to flow out of your being. An influx of thoughts during a session simply shows us that there is healing being done on the mental level, revealing that parts of our blockages & pain are being created through our thoughts. Above all, know that there is no right or wrong way to do or receive Reiki.

b. Scientific research on Reiki has shown that it can help reduce stress (by reducing the production of cortisol), enhance relaxation, & support the body’s natural healing processes (even helping manage pain levels in those with chronic conditions!) Reiki studies have shown improved mental health in those struggling with symptoms of depression, anxiety, and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). Research has also shown its potential in improving sleep quality, supporting immune function, accelerating recovery from surgeries , & helping reduce chemotherapy side effects. Holistically speaking, Reiki aligns with the concept that the mind, body, and spirit are all interconnected, & a disruption in any one area can affect the whole. Reiki offers a path to physical, emotional and spiritual recovery that nurtures the entirety of a person. As energy blockages are cleared, a sense of clarity, empowerment & emotional release is often experienced. Many report feeling a profound sense of relaxation, enhanced mood, and emotional lightness after a session.

d. Intuitive information may make itself known to me during a Reiki session in the form of sensations, images, or emotions. I might feel heat, cold, tingling, pressure or even pain in certain areas of the body, signaling where energy blockages are present. Visions, symbols, or colors may appear as well, offering me insight into the physical, emotional, or spiritual state of the client. Specific intuitive messages or words of guidance may emerge as well, providing me with information on what is going on & what is truly needed for healing. Each session is unique, and some people may feel immediate results, like relaxation or emotional clarity, while others may notice subtle changes over time, such as increased energy levels or pain reduction. Reiki is a safe, non-invasive practice that can do no harm and connects to a universal life energy that is accessible to people of all faiths or none. All that is required of you is to trust, release and remain open to something that cannot be seen but only felt and experienced 🙂
what makes reiki with me unique?

“Reiki is not [just] about healing others, it’s about healing yourself first, and allowing the energy to flow freely through you.”- unknown
A Reiki session with me is unique in how much intention and importance is put towards the pre and post treatment protocols. I believe the healing power of Reiki does not solely lie in the treatment itself, but in creating a safe space and an experience that allows a client to completely ease into the session, leave feeling grounded and lighter, and end equipped with the tools to integrate & sustain the healing. The required 90-minute initial session ensures that every client feels heard, with time dedicated to understanding their specific needs and concerns. I believe the ability to surrender and trust is essential for clients to truly feel and integrate the benefits of Reiki, and for insights trapped within the energetic body to make themselves known to me. I incorporate an eye gazing exercise in every initial session to cultivate a feeling of safety & trust, as well as a guided meditation as the treatment begins to calm the nervous system & to allow an embodied sense of relaxation and openness to envelope the client. Post-treatment, I guide the client through a grounding somatic meditation (using EFT tapping, Havening or Yoga Nidra) to truly allow the session’s energy to be integrated and clear any residual tension, ensuring lasting benefits. Lastly, a comprehensive follow-up report is sent out to the client explaining in deeper detail what insight was picked up during the session, recommended Reiki treatment duration, & to provide clear, sustainable and actionable recommendations to empower clients to continue their healing journey in a way that is tailored and specific to their needs & imbalances.
